I recently moved, and had to select a new dentist. But how am I supposed to know who is the best dentist? I just have to wait and see. Like my last dentist, only after 6 months I found out that my dentist was not as good as I thought he was, but by than it was too late and I ended up with a terrible tooth ache. I wish I could see somewhere what the quality of the dentists are which makes it easier for me to choose the best. | ||

I voted no, but would actually use a rating in some circumstances. In theory a quality rating sounds attractive; in practice I would not use a dentist unless I knew someone else who had used them. I would use a quality rating perhaps to avoid the very worst dentists. The other thing is, in the UK a lot of people like me want to get a National Health dentist as it's much cheaper but they are in very short supply. If you are lucky enough to get access to one, people don't tend to turn them down. |

Dear Nettelligence, At first i thought this solves my wish, but what i was looking for is more an e-bay for dentists, where I can see ratings from real patients, how satisfied they are. These norms still do not say anything to me. That he practices a minimal amount of hours or that he follows classes is no guarrantee for the quality, only satisfied customers are. Maybe this could be added to the application. for the rest I think it is good to have. Thanks for the tip anyway |

It's not the new-fangled gizmos or shiny new techniques that make the ideal dentist. For a large part - it's the person, as far as I'm concerned. Mine has humour (I open my mouth to laugh) and very much compassion. We've been in a relationship from bad to worse to total complete horror, and back again to bearable and good (for now ), for 18 years together. OK - so sometimes (depending on living-location) it was a two-or three-hour drive to get there. And back again. But I knew who'd be there at the end of the road. Someone I trusted implicidly. That type of specification will never show up on any survey. Compassion? Humoristic? Trust? > Nah. Forget. I think may be one of the last of the lucky ones. Praise Paul! |

I wish there was...
- there was an coffee delivery service
- I wish there was an easier way to find lost car keys...
- there were more ambidexterous tools
- I wish I did not get hungry after excercise to lose weight.
